Summer

Summer is here! Since coming home from vacation we have had VBS, spent a week going to the pool everyday, and trying to get the house in some kind of order. HA! This week we went to the pool a couple of times on the days I didn't work. I am seeing some attitudes in my kids that I am not please with and am working on them. Oh the hateful talk and spirits are just about to drive me crazy! Just in God's timing, I am going to the "Deeper Still" conference tomorrow. Kay Arthur, Beth Moore, Priscilla Shriver and MANDISA will all be there. I need this so badly! I wanted to go from the beginning since I have not been able to do something like this for YEARS! Then when I found out that the few ladies I really know at church weren't going to be able to go, I wanted to change my mind. Even had decided to. Then I was asked to drive the "Big Red Van" since there were not enough going to rationalize taking a bus. I was hesitant for a couple of reasons. John will not have a car big enough to take all of the kids in for over 24 hours and will be by himself most of the time. And I hate to drive long distances :~( But I felt this was God's way to make sure I went. Then I worried about who I would be rooming with since I did not even know who was going. Just yesterday I found out that I am rooming with the sweetest lady whom I have wanted to spend time with for so long. We have a lot in common and always enjoy talking to each other. God is just so good. So, even though I do hate leaving the kids, I know I need this and I know that God is in this and He has something for me to learn this weekend! What a blessing that is!

The BEACH

The Spurlocks

The Livingston Family
Fun in the Waves

WHEW~

Since the last time I have posted we have been quite busy. Austin graduate from Curtis Baptist School on May 25th. It was a nice ceremony and we had a great time.

The following Saturday, on Austin's 19th birthday, we headed to Isle of Palms for the annual "Livingston Reunion" as PaPa says, for a week at the beach. We had a house full~ Daddy, Aunt Betty, Rocky, Pam, Jason, Jenny, Harrison, Carter, Adam, Katie, Brayden and Emmory, Amber, Lyn, Isabella and Sadie, John and I, Alex and Allie(for part of the week), Austin (and Carrie for the end of the week), Andrew and Katie Klym, Aaron, Alyssa, Abbie, Anna Grace, Avery, and Aimee! It was fun and oh so busy! Daddy just loves to have us all together.

The week we got back, VBS started on that Monday. Andrew and Aaron helped so that was a help somewhat to me. I didn't volunteer because I didn't know what my work schedule was~ so I had Aimee to entertain. Thank goodnees for SIBLINGS! She was work :~)

This week Andrew and Aaron have basketball "camp" at the gym from 9-5 and we are spending the mornings at the pool. There is so much to do here but the kids love the pool and get along so much better! Next week practice starts for Alyssa too~ Ahh! Do these coaches not think these kids need a SUMMER!! I need to start working on Austin's album this week too! Oh yeah!

Here we go .....a new year~ a new beginning~ again

The beginning of a new year. The older I get the faster the days, weeks, months and yes, years, go by. I remember my mom telling me that when I was younger~ I didn't see how that could be~ but now I do. John and I just celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary! THIRTY YEARS! It is hard to believe that I am old enough to me married that long. But I am :~) I will say that without God, we never would have made it 30 years. We gave our lives to Jesus in 1988, and life has never been the same since. And we are sooo glad. We didn't do anything big to celebrate but hope to later this year. It hard to do something the week before CHristmas. I will say~ those 30 years have been full. We have had 11 wonderful children, 2 children by marriage and 4 beautiful grandchildren. Adam, 30 married to Katie and parents to Brayden,2 1/2, and Emmory, 2 months. Amber 27, married to Lyn, parents to Isabella, 2, and Sadie, 10 months. Alex, 21, Austin,18, Andrew, 16, Aaron,14, Alyssa,12, Abbie,8, Anna Grace,6, Avery,5, and Aimee, 20 months. John has worked in the trucking business for 28 years and is now in sales again with Roadway Express. I am a homeschooling mom who works one day a week as a RN in an ENT surgery center. We are in the midst of BUSYNESS with 4 children playing basektball, Austin and Andrew for the Curtis Baptist Crusaders Varsity team and Aaron and Alyssa for the middle school teams. The little ones are so good about going to game after game after game! I am homeschooling Aaron, Alyssa, Abbie, Anna Grace and Avery this year while Aimee just gets into things :~) IN my spare time, I love to read, study God's Word, (which is my top "resolution" this year) and scrapbook!

I guess that is about it about me for now.I do hope to do better at keeping up with this than I have in the past!
